    1. Simple use Ratio Proportion to solve this problem:
      Hint: Use only one side of the truss, better divide it into 2.
      Divide 12.00 meters span into 2 parts it will give you 6.00 meters. So now focus on the Right triangle as you draw then. using the vertical 1 and horizontal 3.

      1*3 = x*6
      Let x = height of the truss

      so, x = 6/3 = 2
      Height of Main Truss (King post) = 2.oo meters

      Now Focus on the Eaves given 1.50 meters
      Still use Ratio Proportion;

      1*3 = y*2
      Let y = be the height of the vertical part adjacent to the length of eave.

      So y = 1.5/3 = 0.50 meters

      The upon solving the 2 Triangles:

      Triangle 1:
      Given Span = 6.00 meters
      Height is 2:00 meters
      Now solve for the Diagonal Span of roof (Sp1)

      Use Pythagorean Theorem:
      C = /(a*a) + (b*b)
      Let c = Sp1
      Sp1 (c)= / (2*2)+(6*6)
      Sp1 = /4 + 36
      Sp1 = 6.32 meters

      Triangle 2:
      Given Span = 1.50 meters (Eaves)
      Height: 0.50 meters

      Use Pyhthagorean Theorem
      Let c = Sp2
      Sp2 (c) = /(0.5*0.5) + (1.5*1.5)
      Sp2 = /0.25 + 2.25
      Sp2 = /2.5
      Sp2 = 1.58

      Than Add or sum up the two Sp1 + Sp2
      Final Answer : 6.32 meters + 1.58 meters
      Total Span of the Roof = 7.901 meters (closer to answer 7.906 meters)
